The Book Dragon's List of Favorite Things

The Book Dragon's List of Favorite Things

Hello, friends.

If you've somehow wandered into my corner of Glitter Falls, welcome. Pull up a chair, settle into a blanket, and make yourself comfortable. The kettle is always warm, the bookshelves are slightly overfilled, and there is a very good chance I am currently reading three books at the same time.

People often ask me how I spend my days.

The answer is simple: reading books, thinking about books, collecting books, recommending books, reorganizing books, and occasionally buying things that make all of those activities even more enjoyable.

Over the years, I've gathered a collection of favorite treasures that have earned a permanent place in my library. These are the things I reach for over and over again—the little comforts, cozy accessories, useful tools, and delightful discoveries that make reading feel even more magical.

So if you're a fellow book lover, tea drinker, blanket collector, professional daydreamer, or someone who simply enjoys being left alone with a good story, you may find a few new favorites here too.

Cozy Reading Essentials

A proper reading session requires preparation.

A soft blanket.
A comfortable chair.
A warm drink.
At least one snack.
Possibly two.

These are the cozy essentials that help transform an ordinary afternoon into a proper reading adventure.

Things That Keep My Place

There are two types of readers.

The first use proper bookmarks.

The second insist they'll remember the page and then spend twenty minutes searching for it later.

I am not here to judge.

These are some of my favorite page-saving companions:

For Reading After Midnight

Some books simply refuse to be put down.

When that happens, these little tools become surprisingly important.

Please remember that staying awake until 2:00 a.m. to finish a book is not my fault. The author made choices.

My Favorite Library Companions

Books have a tendency to multiply.

One day you own three books.

The next day you're calculating whether a hallway can technically be considered a bookshelf.

For fellow collectors, these are some of my favorite organizational treasures:

Gifts for Book Lovers

If you're shopping for someone who would rather spend a Friday night reading than attending a party, these ideas rarely fail.

For Writers, Dreamers, and Note-Takers

Many readers eventually become writers.

Or at the very least, enthusiastic collectors of beautiful notebooks.

Some of my favorites include:

A Small Disclaimer from a Friendly Dragon

Some links on this page may be affiliate links. If you choose to make a purchase through them, I may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Those commissions help keep the library warm, the tea stocked, and the ever-growing collection of books safely contained (or at least slightly organized).

Thank you for supporting Bella's Magnet Bar and the little world of Glitter Falls.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have discovered another book that absolutely cannot wait until tomorrow.
